Quantum dots, or semiconductor nanocrystals, are semiconductor particles which release energy as light when they are illuminated. Just a few nm in size, quantum dots can be applied to displays as a film layer in front of the backlight to improve display brightness and colour gamut. The quantum dot colour filter layer enables an LCD display to produce a wider and more saturated range of colours.
Through quantum dot technology, the colour saturation performance of NTSC displaying a wide colour gamut is improved, with the range increasing by 30% compared with previous generation technology displays.
RF41010N-AYW-LNN-000 is a 10.1-inch Quantum Dot TFT display from Raystar with transmissive mode. Via quantum dot technology, the range of the colour gamut increases by 30% compared with the non-QD equivalent display, RF41010N-AYW-LNN.
The resolution is 1920×1200 pixels, and the aspect ratio is 16:10. RF41010N-AYW-LNN-000 has an IPS (In-Plane-Switching Liquid Crystal) panel; IPS technique allows viewers to view the screen from wider angles (80/80/80/80 degree). The display uses an HX8290-B driver IC, supporting 2ch-LVDS interface. The brightness of the module is 500 cd/m2 with a contrast ratio of 900:1(typical value). Power supply voltage ranges from 3.0V-3.6V (3.3V typical), with operating temperature range -20~+70℃ and storage temperature range -30~+80℃.
