General Description The C30902SH is avalanche photodiode selected for low noise fabricated with a double-diffused “reach-through” structure. This structure provides high responsivity between 400 and 1000 nm as well as extremely fast rise and fall times at all wavelengths. The responsivity of the device is independent of modulation frequency up to about 800 MHz. The detector chip is hermetically-sealed behind a flat glass window in a modified TO-18 package. Single-Element Pyroelectric Detectors are often applied for temperature and gas measuring applications in one-channel or dual-channel variants, which is then one output per element. Single-Element variants are offered as thermally compensated devices. The principle of Gas monitor application is called NDIR. NDIR requires Detectors with narrow-band optical filters. Excelitas provides a range of suited filter windows for those gases which show an absoption band in the IR spectral range.

PYQ 1398, PYQ 1348 Single-Output Quad Pyros Excelitas' PYQ 1348 and PYQ 1398 Pyrodetectors provide four sensing elements in a geometric square placement. Electrically all elements are connected in series, forming one analog output signal. The two versions vary from each other by different window size and element spacings. This "Quad" Pyrodetector Series provides all four elements connected to one common output. All elements are electrically connected to one FET in source follower connection forming one analog output signal. Two different window options are provided: Rectangular window or square window size. Different geometrical placements are available on request. When being applied with suitable lens or mirror optics these detectors are used in ceiling mount devices. The PYQ 1348 is also available with smaller elements of 0.8x0.8 mm². Small elements are suitable for compact lenses and short detection distances.

Si and InGaAs APD Preamplifier Modules Excelitas Technologies’ C30659 Series includes a Si or InGaAs Avalanche Photodiode (APD) with a hybrid preamplifier, in the same hermetically-sealed TO-8 package, to allow for ultra-low noise operation. The Si APDs used in these devices are the same as used in Excelitas’ C30817EH, C30902EH, C30954EH and C30956EH products, while the InGaAs APDs are used in the C30645EH and C30662EH products. These detectors provide very good response between 830 and 1550 nm and very fast rise- and fall-times at all wavelengths. The preamplifier section of the module uses a very low noise GaAs FET front end designed to operate at higher transimpedance than Excelitas’ regular C30950 Series. Excelitas’ InGaAs C30659-1550E Preamplifier Modules, with 1550 nm peak response, are designed to exhibit higher damage thresholds, thus providing greater resilience when exposed to high optical power densities. Customization of the C30659 Series of APD Preamplifier Modules is available to meet your specific design challenges; modifications include bandwidth and gain optimization, use of different APDs, FC-connectorized packaging.
